Collette Bourke
Principal Osteopath

Initially working at a few different clinics around the North West Collette established The Village Osteopaths in 2013.
An in demand osteopath due to her highly effective treatment combined with interpersonal skills and experience, Collette is currently fully booked for new patients, except for patients for The Perrin Technique Consultation.

Collette is a vastly experienced Perrin Technique Practitioner, becoming one of the first licensed practitioners in 2005 and working alongside Dr Perrin until 2019.
Collette was awarded the Excellence in the Perrin Technique Gold Certificate in 2012 for her work and expertise in the field.

Collette specialises in paediatrics developing her interest and skills following the birth of her first child.
In clinic parents have sought Collette with their newborn as young as four days old, whilst she has helped children and young adults with physical and developmental issues.
As a mother of four Collette has a lot of experience inside and outside of clinic, with lots of tips and advice for new-mums and baby routines.

Collette is recommended by many health professionals for pre and post-natal care. She has helped many women through pregnancies, easing aches and pains whilst helping to prepare for a uncomplicated birth. Collette also provides bespoke aftercare to help new mum’s recover and physically adapt to their new role and responsibilities.
Alongside pre and post natal treatments Collette provides support for women at different stages of their lives. Collette helps women with pelvic issues, headaches and other related physical issues stemming from hormone imbalances.
Cristina Caneri
Associate Osteopath

Cristina initially joined the clinic in 2021, having trained at the International College of Osteopathic Medicine in Naples, and completing her studies in London.. She built a reputation as a kind, compassionate osteopath, helping hundreds of patients over 3 years working with us. She then took 18 months away, working in Italy and Tenerife, before returning to us in 2025. We’re very lucky to have her back working with us!

Cristina became a licensed Perrin Technique Practitioner in 2021 and immediately embraced the technique. Patients appreciate her calm, gentle but thorough approach, working and works closely with Principal Osteopath Collette to provide the best care for patients.

Cristina has a special interest in lower back pain and has developed her own protocol to help, in particular, patients experiencing issues in their lumbar spine.

Cristina enjoys providing cranial osteopathy. She employs this every day in clinic due to patients seeking her skilled treatment for headaches, TMJ and other issues, and her gentle treatment sees patients seeing lots of relief.

Meet Joao Correia, Associate Osteopath!

Joao joined the clinic in 2024 after moving to Manchester in 2023. Joao is from Portugal and initially came to the UK as an oncology and orthopaedic nurse before training as an osteopath at the European School of Osteopathy. His experience means he’s an effective communicator, exuding warmth and calm in the treatment room. With an array of skills from cranial osteopathy, visceral osteopathy and structural techniques, Joao is equipped to help with your acute and chronic conditions.

Using hands-on techniques Joao can pinpoint the cause of your pain. This transfers to treatment where he works to reduce your pain and stiffness in your soft tissues, joints, and muscles. Joao’s treatment and management of back pain sees real improvements with patients reporting the results to be life-changing.

People live with headaches for a long time before seeking treatment, and Joao has the tools to help. Using both structural and cranial skills, he can locate and reduce any physical issues exacerbating your headaches and work to reduce any physical stresses or strains. Joao also provides advice on daily routines to work alongside the treatment to combat headaches returning.

Joao uses his experience to provide hands-on rehabilitation to sports men and women. Whether it’s optimising recovery from injury or helping prepare for a match, race or event, Joso’s understanding of how to prime the body will aid you to perform to your max. He also works with athletes preventatively to ensure historic injuries remain in the past, reducing fear of relapses and aiding overall performance.
Nikki Freedman

Before training as an osteopath Nikki had over 500 hours of yoga teacher training, giving her a deep understanding of movement, breathing mechanics and the impact of physical and emotional stress on the body. This enables her to effectively work with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Nikki’s treatments are always patient-centred and tailored, using a combination of hands-on techniques. She is passionate about helping her patients understand their bodies, reduce pain, and feel empowered in their recovery. Approachable and thorough, she works closely with each individual patient to create a bespoke treatment plan for optimised recovery, to avoid relapses and ensure continued good health.

Nikki has an additional qualification in manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) which allows her to integrate this into her osteopathic treatments and offer dedicated MLD sessions, especially valuable for recovery after surgery, injury, or in supporting complex health conditions.

Nikki is skilled in treating postural imbalances, recurrent back pain, tension headaches, and stress-related conditions held in the body.

Nikki enjoys helping improve the daily lives and mobility of those with conditions like osteoarthritis. Nikki’s thought out, bespoke treatment plans enable patients to not feel limited and have the confidence and reduced pain to live a fuller, active life.
